Assistant Instructor Course

​

PADI Assistant Instructor is the entry point to becoming an instructor and the first half of the PADI Instructor Development Course (IDC first half). The entire process from course to certification can be done at a PADI 5 Star Dive Center, so there is no need to participate in the PADI Instructor Examination (IE). In this course, you can hone your basic skills as an instructor under the guidance of Nishikawana Ocean Park's IDC staff instructors. By becoming an assistant instructor, you can not only improve your own diving skills, but also enjoy the joy of passing on your knowledge and skills to other divers!

What you can do as an assistant instructor

• You can complete the knowledge development portion of the PADI Diver course under the supervision of a PADI Instructor.

• Under the supervision of a PADI Instructor, you can conduct surface skills assessments during training dives for the PADI Open Water Diver course.

• PADI Peak Performance Buoyancy Specialty Diver certification available under the supervision of a PADI instructor.

• Project AWARE Specialty Courses can be certified.

• Ability to conduct PADI Discover Scuba Diving pool or confined water dives.

• Upon successful completion of the Emergency First Response Instructor course, you will be able to conduct Emergency First Response courses.

• After completing the Digital Underwater Photographer Instructor course you will be able to conduct the Digital Underwater Photographer course.

• Upon completion of the Emergency Oxygen Provider Instructor course, you will be able to conduct the Emergency Oxygen Provider course.

• *All of the above are subject to the completion of new and renewal procedures and insurance enrollment.

• *Please be sure to check with the instructor for details about the course.

• *In addition to the above, this also includes items that can be performed by PADI Divemasters.

Pre-Participation Conditions

• Be PADI Divemaster (Open Water Diver through Rescue Diver required) or certified at a leadership level by another training organization.

• Be 18 years of age or older.

• Must have at least 60 logged dives, including night dives, deep dives and underwater navigation.

• Be a certified diver for at least six months.

• Have been trained in CPR and First Aid within the past 24 months.

• Medical History/Medical Certificate

3 days (lecture x 1 day lecture & limited water area x 1 day lecture & ocean x 1 day)

• Assistant Instructor Course Limited Water Area/Marine/Lecture Practical Training Fee: 61,600 yen (tax included)

• Assistant instructor application fee: 15,950 yen (tax included)
